I live in Alexandra New Zealand. I’m an atmospheric physicist, currently working at NIWA’s Lauder research site. My main interest there is with UV radiation — understanding its temporal and geographic variabilities; and how it affects the environment, especially human health.
The following views are a sad commentary on how time doesn’t heal …

I may be past my prime now, but at one time I was nigh on perfect. But, as my standard three (age 9) school report attests, that wasn’t always the case. School_Report_Richard_Standard_3_mid. Its my favourite report. card. Those were the days. No mealy-mouthed wish-wash there! Good on the teacher. I’m happy to report that her words seemed to have a salutory effect – at least for the next few months – and that my end-of-year report was much better. School_Report_Richard_Standard_3_full. Even there its still amusing to read that my handwriting wasn’t bad “for a left hander”. Those were the good old days when you could call a spade a spade.

My goodness, you were a bit of a worry as a young child. I do hope you have grown out of that silly and stupid attitude. Do you think you would have attained the National Standard?
Cheers
Lesley
Much better now, thank you. Maturity is my middle name. Though I still have the propensity to occasional outpbursts of stupidity.

Bloody funny reading on a Saturday night. Strange but the comments look very familiar to my own school notations……….
Glad to help with your insomia!
